U.S. Ski & Snowboard Recognizes SkillsQuest-Fitness Victors

U.S. Ski & Snowboard Skills Quest Fitness Testing

This is a battery of physical testing that aides coaches and athletes to ensure that training and competing are both effective and safe.  SkillsQuest-Fitness was initially created as a general fitness benchmarking tool, not really focused on any specific winter sport; but the battery of tests is one which measures general & overall athletic abilities.   Additionally, the way the testing battery is scored, there is not a single way to “pass” or “score-high” allowing more endurance-biased athletes and strength-/power-biased athletes to all have the ability to score well = the battery takes in to account many athletic abilities like power, agility, endurance, speed, balance, etc… The composite score takes in to account fundamental movement competencies, athletic competencies (being and moving athletically), and finally, performance competencies (maximizing performance).  While Walker missed the overall highest score, he is the highest ranked Snowboard athlete tested across the US at the end of summer 2024.
